Impact Of Lock down : Industries sneak peak

Currently everyday, we are reading, watching and listening the only news about "Rules of Lock down", "Number of Corona Virus Cases", "The struggle of Migrant workers" and the "Impact of the Corona Virus on day-to-day life".

Today, I thought of taking some time to share some information I received from the industries running at the moment. Ever since this lockdown, me and my friends in the industries have been trying to stay connected and understanding how the things are going on? how are they dealing with the current situation? and what are they planning

The answers that we received from most of friends were disturbing and the impact this lockdown or the sudden pause in our life's has really affected the projections or visions for the next years to come. So let me try to share their views, in the way they answered to the above questions.

How are the things going?
Immediately after the one week lockdown was announced, all the industries were closed and everything moving inside was locked. This was the action taken to support the nation and arrest the spread of the virus. But then the lockdown got extended and the demand for the products surged! As everyone panicked and then storage of the products at home started. With the demand of the essentials and food products in the markets increased, some opened up their factories. They started producing and supplying the products, but they had some hurdles:
1. Plants were running with 30% or even less capacity.
2. Supply chain issues.
3. Containment issues
4. Manpower issues - which till date is still the problem.

How are they dealing with the current situation?
"We are working 2 shifts of 10 hours each and have been discussing with union's to address and support in this situation."
"We had some product and raw materials in stock, with which we first managed to supply and make some product of it, and we are still finding other ways to source materials"
"We have local and resident workers with us, so managed to start with them, but with only 30% capacity."
To quote some..

What are they planning?
Daily they are trying to find ways with local workers and the unions to get some help, so that they can get all the things back and at least keep the factories running. But with the loss of manpower, they had to move to over-times, keeping up with the demands and trying to fill the shelves back. Finding substitutes for almost everything. But still we are unclear till when this will go and how will we recover, as we lost our one set of season thing summer!

These are some of the issues the industries are facing and are trying to provide us with what we require. I personally request all the workers and employees to please don't move away from the work, as this work is what is going to provide you food. Like farmers are the most important part of our life's , you guys are also equally important.

Think about this everyone. Its just a chain, like we are talking for Corona. If one breaks, everything will collapse.
